Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Coast Guard said Wednesday in a statement that it rescued a French flag sailboat named “Aleane” with four crew members on board, who were adrift due to a rudder malfunction.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out this Tuesday, the 3rd, through the Center for Coordination of Search and Rescue (JRCC) that received the request for assistance.

The sailboat, adds the document, was about 10 nautical miles southwest of the island of São Vicente, was triggered the ship “Ilheu dos Passaros”, under the command of the master, Sergeant Adérito Fonseca and his garrison to provide assistance, so the sailboat entered and docked “in Porto Grande at 8:50PM, with all crew safe and sound”.
