Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Museum of the Sea in Mindelo will be remodeled in the coming months aiming to gain “new museological dynamics” budgeted at about 8.5 million escudos and partly financed by the Autonomous Fisheries Fund.

For the purpose of the Autonomous Fisheries Fund (FAP) financing, which is expected to be around three million escudos, a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of the Sea and the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC) was signed this morning at the Museum of the Sea located in the Replica da Torre de Belém.

A partnership, which according to FAP manager Helena Luz, who represented theMinistry together with the National Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture, translates into the plan to promote the knowledge and preservation of the sea, history and cultural heritage of the country.

The FAP intends with this funding, according to the same source, to make its contribution so that the city of Mindelo, the citizens and visitors have a “rich museum, not only from the point of view of its estate, but also of the integrated museum concept, forward-looking the internal and external public, in a sustainable way”.
