Africa-Press – Cape verde. Journalist Orlando Lima was reappointed president of the Observatory of Active Citizenship at the general assembly held on Saturday in Mindelo, which elected a list “more balanced” in gender.

According to information from the Non-Governmental Organization, the single list had the unanimous vote of those are present, who elected a new management team that became “more balanced” from the point of view of gender equality.

There are now six women and seven men in the management functions, general assembly, management and supervisory board.

“We highlight the entry of two women to the vice presidency, university professors and activists Celeste Fortes and Lia Medina and also the entry of young university students and the establishment of work committees, namely, scientific committee; gender equality, youth, citizenship and human rights,” the same source said in a press release.
