Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Health announced on Thursday, in Mindelo, that the infrastructure of the Therapeutic Community of Ribeira de Vinha should be inaugurated by the end of July, serving as a reference for the African region.
Arlindo do Rosário spoke to the press following a visit to the therapeutic center in Mindelo, which is expected to receive alcohol and drugs-dependent patients, and still with mental disorders, and assured that by the end of next month the works should be finished and ready for the inauguration.
The Minister said the infrastructure, in São Vicente, will work in the same way as the Granja de São Filipe, in Praia City, with users of both sexes and using the so-called Minnesota method.
“It allows hospitalization in a relatively long period, from six to eight months, for treatment and then social reintegration of those who are being treated here,” stressed the same source, so São Vicente will have a “great center and undoubtedly a reference for the African region.”
