Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean Music Society regretted, this Friday, the physical disappearance of artist Titina Rodrigues, considered a “celebrated performer” of traditional Cape Verdean music, especially morna and coladeira.

“It raised our culture and made a fundamental contribution to the dissemination of morna, raising traditional Cape Verdean music to another level”, he underlined.

“It is with great nostalgia that the Cape Verdean musical family, residing in the country and in the diaspora, today says goodbye, with a broken heart and eyes full of tears, to the great and powerful Voz, of Senhora da Morna, Titita Rodrigues, who took to the stage the message of many Cape Verdean authors and composers, especially the authors of our Morna, which today is a World Heritage Site”, added the same source.
