Speeding up copyright payments remains the biggest challenge in Cabo Verde – SCM

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the Cape Verdean Society of Music (SCM), Solange Cesarovna, reiterated today in Praia that the biggest challenge in Cabo Verde remains to accelerate adherence to copyright payment by users.

Solange Cesarovna was speaking at a press conference about the gala for the second edition of the SCM Awards taking place this Saturday, September 2nd, which also forms the central act of the celebration of SCM’s 10th anniversary which takes place on June 18th.

“We think that the biggest challenge in Cabo Verde is to accelerate the adhesion of partners who are not yet embracing the payment of copyrights so that we do not have a long delay between the beginning of all this collection work, registration and distribution, and the reach of all users and the entire Cape Verdean market”, highlighted the SCM leader.

As she pointed out, there is work to be done on an ongoing basis in the defence of copyright in Cabo Verde, particularly with regard to music user partners, as is the case in other countries, with the involvement of everyone.
