Africa-Press – Cape verde. The number of internet access service subscriptions in Cabo Verde increased 6.6 percent (%) in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the previous semester, according to the statistical indicators report on the electronic communications market.
The document published by the Multisectoral Economic Regulatory Agency (ARME) reported that in September 2021 the total number of internet access service subscriptions was 459.766, of which 86% were provided by the ‘Small Screen’ mobile broadband technology.
“This is due to the fact that the diversity of types of plans offered by it. In addition, the number of internet access service subscriptions increased by about 6.6% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2021. When looking at the same period in 2020, there is an increase of 6%,” the document states.
The penetration rate of the internet access service was about 82 accesses per 100 inhabitants in the reference period, thus presenting a variation of 5.0 percentage points (p.p) and 3.73 p.p. in relation to the second quarter of 2021 and the third quarter of 2020, respectively.
