Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Urban Video Surveillance Project, known as “Safe City” has already kicked off in the municipality of Tarrafal de Santiago, with a socialization and information exchange meeting between the municipality and the National Police.
The first consultation meeting between the Tarrafal City Council and the Regional Command of the National Police took place at the end of last week, involving a team led by Councilor Arnaldo Andrade, as the President’s substitute.
According to the municipality, during the meeting there was an exchange of information on the issue of economic and tourist flows, urban equipment, environmental and urban management, as a way of better articulating the operationalization of the project.
At the meeting, issues were also discussed about the cooperation and partnership relationship between the PN and the City Council in the implementation of the Safe City Project.
According to the same source, the choice of Tarrafal is justified by the fact that it is a municipality with tourist development projects where security must continue to be an “important asset”.
The number of cameras to be installed and their respective dates were not revealed.
Tarrafal will thus join Praia, Sal, Boa Vista and São Vicente on the list of municipalities that have video surveillance.
