Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, considered, in Mindelo, that the sea is the “only area” in which Cabo Verde can be a power and bring the world to training in the most different matters.
The Head of State spoke to the participants of the clean-up campaign on the São Pedro Beach, in São Vicente, and fits in the framework of a colloquium on the oceans, initiative of the Presidency of the Republic, and took place since this Tuesday, in Mindelo, under the theme “The science we need for the ocean we want”.
The event is part of the activities alusing the decade 2021 to 2030, which was declared by the United Nations as the decade dedicated to this problem.
Recalling that, June 8, is World Oceans Day, José Maria Neves urged the date to be used to think how an archipelagic country like Cabo Verde can interact to the sea.
