Africa-Press – Cape verde. Efficiency of the Banking Sector and its determinants: the case of Cape Verde” is the title of the first book by Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos, one of the staff of Banco Comercial Atlântico (BCA).
The work under the seal of the Portuguese-Brazilian publisher Lisbon International Press, of the Grupo Editorial Atlântico, will be launched in mid-November, in the city of Praia.
This book is the result, according to a press release, of an academic work developed by Tiago dos Santos, within the scope of the Masters in Business Management at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Its sample includes data from the annual reports and accounts of banks for the period 2007 – 2020 and has questions about the efficiency of the Cape Verdean banking sector, the determinants of the efficiency of commercial banks in the country, among other fundamental questions that arise today. day-to-day activities of policy makers, supervisors, managers and bank employees.
“This work seeks to be an instrument of information and training on efficiency. It is a modest and daring contribution to the process of sustainable development of banks and the Cape Verdean banking sector”, describes the note.

Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos, author of this work, holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologia de Lisboa, a postgraduate degree in Banking Management and a degree in Business Management.
Professionally, he is a banker, one of the staff of Banco Comercial Atlântico (BCA) with 14 years of experience, having worked in the commercial and internal control areas.
He has also been linked to the Hospitality and Tourism sector, as well as to the written press, as a financial manager.
Tiago Vasconcelos dos Santos is a university professor and professional trainer in the areas of Economics, Management and Banking Management, as well as a member of the Ethics Committee of the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF).
In literature, “Efficiency of the Banking Sector and its determinants: the case of Cape Verde” is his first book, despite having worked as co-author, alongside his brothers, on the book “Tiago, uma vida”, in honor of to his late Father, Tiago Pedro Amadeu Furtado dos Santos.
