Africa-Press – Cape verde. The turnover index registered, in the fourth quarter of 2023, a nominal year-on-year variation of 12.7 percent (%), according to indicators for the services sector released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
According to INE data, this year-on-year variation represents a decrease of 3.6 percentage points (pp) compared to the previous quarter.
In quarterly terms, the services turnover index increased by 12.4%.
The wholesale and retail trade and accommodation and catering (restaurants and similar) sections made the most relevant contributions to the variation in the aggregate index (2.7 pp and 5.2 pp), resulting from variations of 4.5 % and 27.2%, respectively.
The remaining sections contribute 4.8 pp to the index variation.
As for Employment, the data show that full-time (NPSR_I) and total (NPSR_IP) services presented, in the fourth quarter, year-on-year variations of 1.8% and 2.2% respectively.
The gross remuneration index registered an increase of 2.4% year-on-year, and 6.8% in quarterly terms.
