
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean under-19 women’s handball team made its debut this Wednesday, 19th, at the Challenge Trophy in Bamako, Mali, with an impressive 50-20 victory over Guinea Bissau, in the opening round game from Group B.
In a match held at the “Salamatou Maiga” Sports Palace, Cape Verde dominated the game from start to finish, so that at half-time they were already winning by 25-09.
Coach Flávio Lima’s squad will return to the court this Friday, starting at 16:00 local time (15:00 in Cape Verde) to face their counterpart from Guinea Conakry.

The Cape Verde under-19 team shares Group B with teams from Mali, Guinea Bissau and Guinea Conakry, while group A comprises the national teams from Senegal, Mauritania, Morocco and Sierra Leone.

With regard to the Cape Verde under-17 team, the Creole delegation is already in Mali, after overcoming the logistical problems, having made technical stopovers in Dakar, Senegal and Togo.
