Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, says there are “good prospects” for agricultural and pasture production in Santiago Norte.

The Prime Minister (PM) was pleased with what he saw in the fields visited, yesterday, in the interior of Santiago and stated that given the rains recorded there are “good prospects” in relation to agricultural and pasture production.

Ulisses Correia e Silva spoke to the press at the end of his visit to the Santiago Norte region to assess ‘on site’ the evolution of the 2023/2024 agricultural campaign, in perspective.

Recharge of groundwater

The head of the Cape Verdean Executive visited agricultural fields in São Lourenço dos Órgãos, São Salvador do Mundo, Santa Catarina, Tarrafal, São Miguel and Santa Cruz, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva.

“The countryside is beautiful and the outlook for agricultural production is good, and we hope that the rain continues nationally”, said Ulisses Correia e Silva, congratulating the production of pasture and recharge of groundwater, after several years of drought.
