Africa-Press – Cape verde. On the 15th of November, the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV) promotes the 1st edition of the Science Open Day with the aim of promoting research activities and disseminating scientific production and sharing knowledge.
Uni-CV holds the first edition of Science Open Day with a focus on promoting scientific initiation
According to the informative note, this event takes place within the scope of the 17th anniversary of the University of Cape Verde and submission of works must be made by the 8th of November.
According to the statement, authors are invited to present their research, namely projects, final course work, master’s degrees and doctorates in progress or defended over a period of no more than two years in the form of oral presentations or posters.
The objective of this initiative, specified in the note, is to promote scientific initiation, giving undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to interact with senior researchers, in addition to encouraging the sharing of knowledge among Uni-CV researchers.
Stimulating interdisciplinary collaboration between the organic units of Uni-CV and strengthening the dissemination of science, highlighting its inclusive nature and the importance of scientific leadership for the development of Cape Verde are, according to the same source, also key concepts underlying this initiative.
The Open Day of Science at Uni-CV will be an event in a hybrid format, which aims to cover as many researchers, doctoral and recent doctorate teachers, as well as postgraduate students in the phase of completing their theses and dissertations and/ or with recently defended degrees and, also, undergraduate students with course completion work, upon recommendation from the advisor.
This new project is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) through the Center for Research and Training in Gender and Family (CIGEF) – implementation partner – and the Eugénio Tavares Chair in Portuguese Language (CET-LP)
