Athletes Willian Santos and Letícia Neves, both from the Jal Domus Nostra athletics school, took first place, male and female, in the tests of the first stage of the Santo Antão Triangle Trail, which took place this Friday, 29th, in Lagoa, municipality of Ribeira Grande. The second stage takes place today, in the municipality of Paul.

According to the results released by the organization, the Cape Verde Trail Series, in second place in the 19km trail, was Nelson Correia (Individual), followed by Moisés Neves (Juzim de Liza), in third position.

In the women’s race, second place was taken by athlete Ana Furtado (Emicela), followed by Aldina Simão (Jal Domus Nostra), in third.

Trail Jovem was led by Ricardo Chantre, in first place, followed by Bruno Andrade and Wesley Patrick, in second and third place, respectively.

Paul hosts second stage today

The second and penultimate stage of the Santo Antão Triangle Trail starts this Saturday morning, the 30th, in the municipality of Paul, with the main trail, the youth trail, hiking and kids trail.

The municipality of Porto Novo hosts, on Sunday, the third and final stage, with the same events.

150 athletes to participate

There are 150 athletes from all over the country participating in the race, the first day of which took place simultaneously with the 1st International Conference on Nature Tourism, which for the organization is a unique opportunity to debate the new paths of tourism in Cape Verde, among them, the trail paths.

The conference took some world experts in nature and adventure tourism to the mountain island, with the aim of discussing the diversification of tourism in Cape Verde and the need to create sustainable tourist offers, which enhance communities and take advantage of endogenous resources. from the country.

Santo Antão Triangle Trail is an event integrated into the Cape Verde Trail Series, a project developed by the company In Totum lda and the Institute of Sports and Youth.
