Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Association of Journalists of Cabo Verde (AJOC) will announce, this Monday, the winners of the 2021 edition of the National Journalism Award, in the radio, television and press categories.
Works written or prepared in Portuguese or in Cape Verde, written by one or more professional journalists and covering themes that correspond to the objectives set out in the resolution, compete for the PNJ.
The works that follow the criteria of technical quality, relevance to the theme and the fulfillment of the objectives of the PNJ are considered winners.
Originality, creativity and depth in the approach to the theme, adaptation of the narrative to the chosen medium, relevance and timeliness, as well as potential impacts or repercussions on individual and social behavior changes are also criteria to be taken into account by the jury.
The PNJ comprises a prize of 1,500 contos, to be distributed equally among the three categories and subject to legal discounts.
Certificates of recognition are also awarded to the best journalistic works submitted to the competition.
The panel of judges for this edition is made up of Geremias Furtado, president of AJOC, Marilene Pereira, journalist and writer, Wlodziemierz Szymaniak, university professor, Nardi Sousa, university professor, João Almeida Medina, journalist and university professor.
The awarding of the PNJ, edition 2021, will take place at a ceremony to be held on May 3, World Press Freedom Day.
