Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Judicial Police arrested two men and a woman in Praia on Friday, the 8th, as part of the investigation into an armed robbery that occurred in January of this year. When they were brought before the judicial authorities, they were subject to the coercive measure of periodic presentation to the authorities.

According to a statement from the PJ released on Sunday, the 10th, the individuals, aged between 23 and 37, are suspected of stealing approximately one million escudos from a company employee who was about to make a bank deposit.

In the operation carried out on November 8th, a search and seizure warrant was executed, during which 2.226 grams of cocaine, derivatives and 2.20 grams of cannabis were found, according to the same source.

In addition to robbery, the three suspects were indicted for the crimes of illicit arms trade, high-risk drug trafficking and criminal association.

It should be noted that, with this case, two other individuals have been in preventive detention since July, suspected of robbing a company employee in the Achada Grande Frente neighborhood, in front of Banco Interatlântico, when she was going to deposit an amount of 950 thousand escudos in the company where she works.

Preventive detention of two men suspected of drug trafficking

The PJ also reported on Sunday that it arrested four people at the beginning of the weekend in Achadinha de Meio, Praia, in an operation against drug trafficking in which two men were held in preventive detention, while two women were released under the condition of being forced to present themselves weekly.

As stated in the PJ statement, the suspects were arrested as part of the plan to prevent and combat drug trafficking, through the Central Section for Investigation of Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime (SCITECO), carried out at the beginning of this weekend.

During the operation, 335.414 grams of cocaine, 0.123 grams of amphetamines, a homemade weapon and a car were seized, in addition to around 19 thousand escudos and two precision scales.

Four individuals, all of Cape Verdean nationality and aged between 19 and 32, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the crimes of high-risk drug trafficking in co-authorship.
