World Para-Athletics: Heidilene Oliveira makes her debut in the 400 meters in Paris today

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean international Paralympic athlete with low vision Heidilene Oliveira and her guide Jailson de Oliveira debut today in the 400-meter sprint class T12 of the Para-Athletics World Championship taking place in Paris, France.

The Cape Verdean pair, according to the programme, will take the stage at 20:00 local time (17:00 CV) in search of qualification for the semi-finals and finals.

Oliveira and his guide achieved the minimum for the Paris’2024 Paralympic Games last March, at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix Series in Marrakech 2023 (Morocco), by winning the bronze medal in the 200 metres speed event, with a time of 27.75 seconds.

Heidilene Oliveira holds the gold medals at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix Series’2022 in Tunisia in the 400 meters T12 class, where she also won silver in the 200 meters and bronze in the 100 meters.

Gracelino Barbosa, world champion and Cape Verde’s most referenced paralympic athlete ever, will make his debut on Friday 14 in the 400 metres race, shallow class, class T20.
