Africa-Press – Cape verde. Tarrafal de São Nicolau, Aug 2 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Communities said, in São Nicolau, that there was a misunderstanding about the supposed “disappearance” of more than half of the Cabo Verdean delegation to the World Youth Day.
Jorge Santos, who was speaking to Inforpress on the sidelines of the solemn session of the day of the Municipality of Tarrafal de São Nicolau, clarified that what happened is that the young people, instead of “going to the accommodation in Leiria, stayed in Lisbon at the home of relatives” but are participating in WYD.
According to the minister, the news of the “disappearance” was completely unfounde” and that has already been denied by some media in Portugal.
Meanwhile, he guaranteed that the Government is closely monitoring the matter, as these young people were participating in an “important event” and the executive has “every interest” in having the largest possible delegation there.
