Africa-Press – Eritrea. The Senegalese Football Federation says it is monitoring with the utmost attention the situation of Senegalese supporters currently detained in Morocco after the AFCON 2025 final.

The federation states that Senegal remains mobilized at the highest level, in close coordination with Moroccan authorities, under the supervision of the Senegalese ambassador. Diplomatic and legal steps are underway to ensure proper detention conditions, respect for fundamental rights, and access to legal assistance, in line with the longstanding relations between the two countries.

The case concerns 18 Senegalese supporters arrested following incidents during the AFCON final won by Senegal against Morocco. Pressure continues to grow within the football world, with several players speaking out publicly. After Pape Matar Sarr, defender Moussa Niakhaté also relayed the federation’s message on social media, calling for the supporters’ release, as calls for a swift and fair resolution intensify.
