Africa-Press – Eritrea. Boeing said it plans to increase the production of its 737 model to 38 planes per month, up from 31, according to its financial results statement released on Wednesday.

The US-based multinational corporation, which designs, manufactures and sells airplanes, said its commercial airplanes revenue rose to $6.7 billion in the first quarter of this year, driven by higher 737 and 787 deliveries.

The figure is an annual increase of 60% from approximately $4.2 billion recorded in the first quarter of last year.

The Virginia-headquartered firm saw a total revenue of $17.9 billion in the January-March period of this year, which was up 28% from almost $14 billion in the same period of 2022.

The company, however, recorded a net loss of $425 million in the first three months of this year, while it had a net loss of $1.2 billion in the same period last year.

An American Airlines Boeing 737’s engine burst into flames on Sunday due to a bird strike, before its pilot safely managed an emergency landing at an airport in Columbus, Ohio in the US.
