Africa-Press – Eritrea. Clubs wishing to compete in the 2025/2026 Inter-Club Competitions must meet the standards set forth by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, and Kwara United are the four Nigerian teams that have earned the privilege to compete for their nation in the major events.
CAF has established the following requirements for participating clubs in order to be eligible: Must compete in a national league recognized by CAF Home stadium must have a minimum seating capacity of 10,000
The club must be officially registered with its national football association Club statutes must align with CAF regulations Demonstrate stable and transparent financial operations
No outstanding debts to players, staff, or creditors Present a clear financial plan and operational budget Free from ongoing legal disputes Have a system to manage conflicts of interest
Adhere strictly to CAF transfer regulations Maintain functional youth development teams (U20 and U17) The head coach must possess a valid CAF A coaching license Operate an active senior women’s football team However, CAF has provided flexibility regarding women’s football.
Clubs without a senior women’s team can still meet the requirement by partnering with an existing women’s club and submitting a formal partnership agreement to CAF.
