Africa-Press – Eritrea. The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has officially acknowledged and accepted the disciplinary decision handed down by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), confirming it will not appeal the sanctions imposed following recent events.
In a communiqué released, the FSF announced that it had taken note of Decision DC23315, by the CAF Disciplinary Jury. After reviewing the ruling, the federation formally informed CAF of its decision not to lodge an appeal against the sporting and financial sanctions imposed.
The decision also applies to individual disciplinary measures targeting key members of the Senegal national team setup, including:
Head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw
Players Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye
In line with Article 91.4 of the CAF Disciplinary Code, the FSF confirmed that it will fully assume financial responsibility for all fines imposed on the federation, the technical staff, and the players concerned.
Despite accepting the sanctions, the FSF reiterated its commitment to defending its legitimate rights and interests within football’s governing bodies. However, the federation stressed that such actions will always be carried out in strict compliance with CAF regulations, while upholding the principles of integrity, fair play, and the development of African football.
The statement, signed by the FSF General Secretariat, was issued in Dakar on January 31, 2026, signaling the federation’s intention to move forward while maintaining institutional discipline and respect for CAF’s regulatory framework.
This position effectively closes the chapter on the disciplinary case, allowing Senegalese football authorities to refocus on sporting matters on and off the pitch.
