Africa-Press – Eritrea. Manuel Akanji will be out for “eight to ten weeks” after suffering an injury against Real Madrid, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday.

“Surgery on Saturday. Eight to ten weeks out. Abductor injury is never easy,” Pep Guardiola responded to a question about an update on the injury sustained by Akanji during the defeat to Real Madrid in his press conference.

Akanji, 29, previously played for Basel and Borussia Dortmund.

He helped Borussia Dortmund win the German Super Cup in 2019 and the German Cup in 2020/21.

The Swiss defender won the 2023 UEFA Champions League title, the 2023 English Super Cup, and the English Premier League titles in 2023 and 2024 with Manchester City.
