Africa-Press – Eritrea. AC Milan has officially appointed Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach, marking his return to the club a decade after his first successful spell. The Rossoneri, currently 8th in Serie A and out of European competitions, have turned to the experienced Italian manager to stabilize a club in turmoil.

Massimiliano Allegri replaces Sergio Conceição, making him Milan’s third coach in five months, following Paulo Fonseca and Conceição’s short-lived tenures.

This move comes after Allegri’s anticipated appointment at Napoli fell through, with Aurelio De Laurentiis ultimately convincing Antonio Conte to stay. AC Milan quickly seized the opportunity to bring back Allegri, who had been free since leaving Juventus in 2024. Allegri previously led Milan to a Scudetto and an Italian Super Cup during his 2010–2014 spell. Now signed on a two-year deal with an option for a third, he will reportedly earn €5.5 million per year, excluding bonuses.

The timing is critical for Milan, who have struggled on and off the pitch this season. The return of Allegri, who boasts a decorated résumé including five Serie A titles and five Coppa Italia wins with Juventus, is seen as a strategic move to bring stability, discipline, and a winning mentality back to the Rossoneri. His challenge now is to rebuild trust in the locker room and steer the club back into contention for domestic and European glory.
