Africa-Press – Eritrea. Keren, 23 December 2023- The Anseba Region Regional Assembly convened on December 20 and 21 to deliberate on the execution of the 2023 development programs, as well as the strengths and challenges encountered.
The assembly’s secretary, Mr. Suleiman Mohammed Nur, urged the participants to actively monitor the execution of development initiatives.
The Assembly called for a somber follow-up on the costs incurred for project implementation, noting that commendable efforts had been exerted in organizing training programs and awareness-raising activities, soil and water conservation, and irrigating farms in addition to managing land and water.
The Assembly also called for vigorous monitoring to maintain the gains made in health and education services as well as supporting community-based sports programs.
The participants also adopted various recommendations including strengthening public awareness-raising efforts for the improvement of the teaching-learning process, working closely with the public to implement development programs, encouraging public participation in development drives, and increasing the participation of female students in junior and high schools.
The Governor of the Region, Ambassador Abdella Musa, urged for increased involvement in greening and soil and water conservation initiatives to counteract the threat posed by climate change.
