Africa-Press – Eritrea. Asmara, 25 May 2024 – Heads of State and Government from the Republic of Italy, Kingdom of Bahrain, and Republic of Syria have extended their congratulations to the people and Government of Eritrea on the occasion of the 33rd Independence Day anniversary.
President Sergio Mattarella of the Republic of Italy, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and President Bashar al-Assad of the Republic of Syria expressed their well-wishes for good health to President Isaias Afwerki, as well as peace and prosperity for the Eritrean people. They also conveyed their countries’ readiness to enhance strong ties and mutual cooperation with Eritrea.
President Sergio Mattarella highlighted the traditional bonds of friendship that unite the two peoples. He expressed his hope for further deepening of every fruitful form of collaboration between the two countries, both at a bilateral level and within the framework of their mutual commitment to the stability and security of the Horn of Africa.
Mr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) also sent a message of congratulations.
