Africa-Press – Eritrea. Over 1.2 million Nakfa, contributed by the public, Government workers, and associations in the Northern Red Sea Region, has been distributed to 205 families of martyrs in area administrations across nine sub-zones.
Mr. Ahmed Abdulkadir, head of Organizational Affairs of the PFDJ in the region, stated that support efforts, in collaboration with partners, will also be extended to families of martyrs engaged in agricultural activities. He commended the contributions of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, area administrations, and other institutions.
Similarly, monetary support has been extended to families of martyrs in the sub-zones of Keren and Adi-Tekelezan in the Anseba Region in connection with Martyrs Day.
At an event organized in Adi-Tekelezan on 16 June, over 122 thousand Nakfa, contributed by individuals and Government workers, was distributed to children of martyrs set to go to Sawa to pursue their secondary education.
Likewise, residents of the 6th administrative area in Keren city contributed 36 thousand Nakfa in support of families of martyrs. Mr. Tekeste Zerai, head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare branch in the Anseba Region, called on others to take similar initiatives.
Residents, Government workers, and students in the port city of Massawa also conducted a popular campaign at the Imkulu Martyrs Cemetery on 16 June in connection with Martyrs Day.
