President Isaias Receives Credentials of Ambassadors

Africa-Press – Eritrea. President Isaias Afwerki today received the credentials of five resident and seven non-resident ambassadors in the morning hours today at the Denden Guest House.

The Resident Ambassadors who submitted their credentials are: Ambassador Meshal Hamdan B. Alrogi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mr. Alfonso Di Riso of the Republic of Italy; Mr. Oleg Petrenko of the Russian Federation; Mr. Osama Ahmed Abdulbari of the Republic of Sudan; and Mrs. Joanna Darmanin of the Delegation of the European Union.

The non-Resident Ambassadors who submitted their credentials are: Dr. Alex Karsten Wabenhorst of the Commonwealth of Australia; Mr. Michal Murkocinki of the Republic of Poland; Mr. Houssien Sidi Abdellah of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania; Mr. Alfred Musemuna of the Republic of Zambia; Mr. Dole Gueu Albert of Cote D’Ivoire; Mr. Ernest Rwamucyo of the Republic of Rwanda; and Mr. Appuhamige Sisira Kumara Senavirathe of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The Ambassadors conveyed messages of goodwill from their respective Heads of State and Government to President Isaias Afwerki and their commitments to further consolidate bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation between their homeland and Eritrea.

Speaking to Erina, Ambassador Meshal Hamdan B. Alrogi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mr. Alfonso Di Riso of the Republic of Italy; Mr. Osama Ahmed Abdulbari of the Republic of Sudan; and Mrs. Joanna Darmanin of the Delegation of the European Union expressed their countries’ willingness and readiness to consolidate brotherly and robust relations and promote the development of mutual cooperation with Eritrea.

Ambassador Alfonso Di Riso of the Republic of Italy, noting that the relationship between Eritrea and Italy is historic and consistent, said that he has fruitful discussion with President Isaias Afwerki on ways to further strengthen the relations.

Ambassador Osama Ahmed Abdulbari, conveying greetings and gratitude from General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, expressed readiness to further strengthen the existing historical relations in various sectors.

Mrs. Joanna Darmanin, for her part, indicated that she discussed with President Isaias issues focusing on regional peace and stability. She said that Eritrea’s role and experience are of significant interest to the EU and expressed willingness to work with Eritrea for peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.

The occasion was attended by Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
