Atletico Madrid secure derby win over Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid 3-1 in a Sunday derby, giving the Whites their first defeat of the season.
Alvaro Morata, a former Real Madrid forward, scored twice in the fourth and 46th minutes, while his French teammate Antoine Griezmann produced another goal in the 18th minute for Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano.
Real Madrid’s only goal came from Toni Kroos in the 35th minute.
The away loss left Real Madrid third in the Spanish La Liga table as the Whites have 15 points in six matches.
Diego Simeone’s side rose to the fifth spot as Atletico Madrid are five points behind Real Madrid.
