Africa-Press – Eritrea. Asmara, 20 December 2023 – Twenty-five farmers in the Serejeka sub-zone received training from the Ministry of Agriculture on techniques for increasing agricultural output and guaranteeing food security.

The three months of theoretical and practical training covered building bee hives, producing and using organic fertilizers and pesticides, and current wheat cultivation techniques, according to Mr. Abraham Berhane, head of the sub-zone’s agricultural office.

Crop seed specialist Mr. Okbai Semere, for his part, stated that the training will help farmers introduce new farming practices and boost agricultural output.

The trainees, for their part, expressed gratitude for the training given and stated that they were eager to put it into practice in their farming endeavors.

The administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Asrat Haile, stated that the trainees were chosen for the program because they were excellent farmers and that they anticipated the training would have a major impact on their day-to-day farming operations.
