Africa-Press – Eswatini. South Africa’s (SA) decorated player in former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Oupa ‘Ace’ Manyisa is open for offers in the country – he has already been linked with Mbabane Swallows.
The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfield maestro was in the country for the official launch of the 2023 Red Card GBV Pre-Season Soccer Tournament at the Sigwaca House on Thursday. That is where it transpired he was now willing to continue his blissful football career and could join any team in the country. Meanwhile, the tournament to feature four clubs, including local envoys Swallows, is in partnership with the Manyisa/Mhlongo Foundations. This foundation is the brainchild of former Amabhakaniya players in Manyisa and goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo.
The former SA’ s Bafana Bafana star, when responding to questions by South Africa-based liSwati Sports Journalist Ernest Fakude, jokingly on whether he was available to be signed by Umkhonto KaShaka, if a chance could come his way, said he could not resist the offer. “As long as God permits me to play, I can say that I am available to join any team that is prepared to break the bank for my signature,” Manyisa said. The red and white capital city giants Governor Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane, when reacting to Manyisa’s comments said this would depend on the coach’s recommendation. If the coach, Caleb Ngwenya wants him then they would consider it.
“He is a big brand and having him in Swallows will enhance our brand as you know that Swallows is a big brand in the country and Africa at large,” the former national team Sihlangu manager said. He said the Ngwenya-coached side was associated with big brands and that was the reason it was feared in the continent. Manyisa once won two trebles while in the black and white of Pirates. Meanwhile, Swallows will be heading back to SA for the preseason soccer tournament after they were in Durban last weekend for the 2023 Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup. The Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze-captained side has been drawn against TUT with, their game slated to kick off at 11:30am.
