Africa-Press – Eswatini. This is the story of MTN Premier League side Nsingizini Hotspurs, who signed a sponsorship deal worth E1.5 million with Embiveni Meats. The Shiselweni-based ensemble further announced that Primo would be their technical sponsor for the next three years. The sponsorship was officially unveiled by Insingizi Yezulu’s CEO Benele Ngobe, in the presence of Primo’s Managing Director Gian Chidoni and Nino Chidoni, the major shareholder of Primo, yesterday.
The event was also attended by Embiveni Meats General Manager, Phaseka Mhlanga at the side’s home base at Hluthi in the Shiselweni Region. Ngobe stated that the partnership was a significant milestone for the club, as it marked 39 years since the club’s establishment and the arrival of two significant sponsors. He expressed his gratitude for the support and emphasised that the partnership would greatly benefit the team and enable them to compete at a higher level. “We are absolutely delighted to partner with Embiveni Meats and Primo. As a club, we are deeply appreciative of this sponsorship and believe that it would be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals.

Gian, Primo’s MD, expressed his joy in partnering with Nsingizini Hotspurs, a club that he believes was quickly becoming one of the biggest and most promising teams in Eswatini. He stated that the partnership represented a great opportunity for Primo to support a club with a bright future and contribute to the growth of soccer in the country.

Embiveni Meats GM Phaseka Mhlanga said they were honoured to be here today and be part of the festivities. “As we all know that football is a community sport and we see our involvement as an opportunity to empower the youth in the country, because football in particular is a popular sport. As a company, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting local initiatives,” he said. Mhlanga said they recognised the important role that sports played in bringing people together and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
“Nsingizini Hotspurs is a team that has shown great potential and dedication to their sport. We are proud to support them in their endeavours and hope that this sponsorship will help them achieve their goals. ‘‘Our contribution will go towards providing the team with the necessary resources and equipment to perform at their best,” he added. The GM revealed that Embiveni Meats pledged a sum of E1.5 million towards a football kit for Nsingizini Hotspurs.

Primo MD said as Primo, they were happy to partner with Nsingizini Hotspurs which they believed were one of the fast-growing big clubs in Eswatini. Primo is part of a network of 10 companies within the Gemelli Group, managed by Nino Chidoni. The company was established in 1982 in Durban, South Africa and began as a small, independent manufacturing concern.
Today, it is a national powerhouse which manufactures clothing for women, men and children – as well as accessories – which are supplied to an array of listed retailers and brands. It boasts in-house design, development and pattern-making and also has an in-house knitting mill. Meanwhile, the ladies and development teams will also benefit from the deal.
