Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni opened up the Africa summit by unveiling a plan to boost development for the continent that she hoped would curb migrant arrivals and forge a new relationship between Europe and Africa.
Meloni, in her remarks, outlined a series of pilot projects in individual countries that she said would enable Africa to become a major exporter of energy to Europe, helping it reduce its dependence on Russian energy.
Eswatini delivered a high-level address through Dlamini, indicating the key intervention areas targeted at ensuring inclusiveness as well as addressing the issue of Energy Security and Transition session. He mentioned the need for Eswatini’s aspiration to be energy self-sustaining.
The PM further stated that the Kingdom of Eswatini’s end goal with regards to energy security was to generate enough power to attract significant investments in many sectors and industries as well as to be an exporter of energy. He said it was such investments that would grow the country’s economy and bring sustainable jobs for Emaswati.
