COMMONWEALTH MASTER’S SCHOLARSHIPS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) has officially opened applications for its prestigious Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year.

These scholarships, funded by the UK government, aim to support students from eligible Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to afford to study in the United Kingdom.

Since its establishment in 1960, the CSC has helped more than 30,000 individuals gain world-class education and skills in the UK, enabling them to contribute to the development of their home countries and tackle global challenges.

Applications for the 2025 intake are open from September 2 to October 14, 2025. Prospective applicants must apply through the CSC’s official online application system. Submissions outside the specified portal or beyond the deadline will not be accepted.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to visit the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s website at www.cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk to access the online application system. Each scholarship listing includes detailed application guidelines and instructions.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships, applicants must:

Be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country, a British Protected Person, or have been granted refugee status by an eligible country.

Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth nation.

Be available to begin academic studies in the UK in September 2026.

Hold a first degree with at least upper second-class (2:1) honours, or a second-class degree (2:2) along with a relevant postgraduate qualification (typically a Master’s degree).

Demonstrate financial need, proving they would be unable to study in the UK without this scholarship.

Submit full transcripts of all higher education qualifications, including current studies, with certified English translations if necessary.

Provide two references from academic or professional referees.

It is important to note that the CSC does not typically fund a second UK Master’s degree. Applicants wishing to pursue another Master’s must provide a strong justification for doing so.

Global Impact

The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships reflect the UK’s commitment to international development through education. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and build networks that contribute to sustainable development in their home countries.
