Africa-Press – Eswatini. Minister of Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo, has visited St. Peregrines Primary School in Bulandzeni under the Ndzingeni Constituency to inspect a site earmarked for the construction of a secondary school. During the visit, he commended the school for its remarkable 98% pass rate in Grade 7 last year and pledged to build a computer lab to enhance digital learning.
Minister Nxumalo, who attended his early primary school years at St. Peregrines, listened attentively to the concerns raised by Headteacher Bheki Fakudze. Fakudze highlighted the urgent need for two additional teachers to complete the school’s staff complement, as well as the deteriorating state of school buildings, which date back to 1962. He requested government assistance in renovating the structures and providing much-needed school furniture.
After inspecting the designated area for the proposed secondary school, Minister Nxumalo assured the school leadership and community that he would engage senior officials on the matter and provide feedback soon.
The visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving access to quality education and addressing infrastructure challenges in schools across the country.
