US STRENGTHENS INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP WITH ESWATINI

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The United States Embassy has pledged to strengthen trade diplomacy with Eswatini, emphasizing the importance of building lasting economic partnerships.

The commitment was underscored during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Business Eswatini (BE) at Emafini on August 18, 2025. The visit was led by Chargé d’Affaires Marc Weinstock, who chose Business Eswatini as one of his first official engagements since assuming office, signaling the Embassy’s prioritization of trade and investment relations.

During the meeting, Weinstock reaffirmed that the United States views commercial diplomacy as a vital tool to expand trade opportunities and foster cooperation between American companies and Eswatini’s private sector. He emphasized that trade is not only about transactions but also about creating jobs, empowering communities, and enhancing prosperity in both countries.

Welcomed by Business Eswatini CEO E. Nathi Dlamini and his team, discussions focused on deepening partnerships, unlocking new investment avenues, and strengthening existing programs that support entrepreneurship, market access, and skills development.

Weinstock highlighted the Embassy’s readiness to support Eswatini’s private sector by encouraging U.S. businesses to invest in the kingdom. “We will win, we will succeed,” he declared, offering an optimistic outlook on the future of bilateral cooperation.

CEO Nathi Dlamini welcomed the gesture, noting that Business Eswatini values partnerships that deliver meaningful impact on the ground. He explained that collaboration with international partners such as the U.S. Embassy broadens opportunities for local businesses to grow, integrate into global value chains, and remain competitive.

The visit comes at a time when Eswatini is seeking to diversify its economy, strengthen exports, and attract new investment. Initiatives such as the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) have already provided Eswatini with a platform to export to the U.S. market, particularly in the textiles and apparel sector.

By reaffirming its commitment to commercial diplomacy, the U.S. Embassy signals continued support for Eswatini’s economic development goals, ensuring that trade remains a bridge for stronger ties between the two nations.
