Hailing from Mliba, Dlamini’s journey into the world of Ingadla is a beautiful blend of passion, inspiration, and cultural pride. Her journey began at a young age when she first witnessed the art of Ingadla. “From the very first time I saw people doing it, I knew I wanted to be part of it,” she shares.
Growing up, she practiced at home with her siblings, but it was her grandmother who truly inspired her. “My grandma was my biggest motivation. She encouraged me to pursue what I love. “Her dedication paid off when she finally got the opportunity to receive formal training in Ingadla. “It was a turning point for me,” she recalls. “Now, I’m here, living my dream and enjoying every moment of it.”
Dlamini describes her experience with Ingadla as incredibly fulfilling. “So far, so good! I love entertaining people. Performing gives me a chance to travel around the country and even cross into South Africa for performances,” she explains with excitement.
While she admits to not having many videos of her performances, she uses social media as a platform to showcase her talent. “I want people to know that there’s a young lady out there who is very talented and proud of what she is doing,” she states.
For Dlamini performing is an exhilarating experience. “When I’m on stage, I feel like this is it! It’s the best feeling ever,” she beams. The cheers and shouts from the audience fuel her passion, giving her the courage to continue sharing her art. “You can see it in my performances—I’m always smiling. That joy comes from connecting with the audience.”
One of her standout performances took place at the Diwale Festival at Riders Range, where she felt she was not only showcasing her talent but also her culture. “Performing there was thrilling because I got to share a piece of my heritage with everyone.”
As she continues her studies in teaching while nurturing her talent in Ingadla, she remains committed to both her education and her passion for performance. With her infectious spirit and dedication, it’s clear that she is destined for great things in the world of entertainment.
