LESOTHO, BOTSWANA, MOZAMBIQUE TO ATTEND ICC LEVEL 1 UMPIRE TUTORS COURSE

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini continues to gain recognition in the realm of sports, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has selected the country to host the Level 1 Umpire Tutors Course for Southern Africa. The ICC, the global governing body of cricket, acknowledges Eswatini’s membership through the Eswatini Cricket Association (ECA). The nation will welcome participants from three Southern African countries: Lesotho, Botswana, and Mozambique.

The three-day course is scheduled to take place from April 16 to 18, 2025. This event not only promotes the country in terms of tourism but also enhances its standing within the global sports community.

“We are thrilled to announce that Eswatini has been chosen by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to host the Level 1 Umpire Tutors Course for Southern Africa. The course, set for April 16-18, 2025, will bring together candidates from Eswatini, Botswana, Lesotho, and Mozambique, with esteemed Master Educators Tom Mokorosi and Lauren Agenbag leading the sessions. This follows Eswatini’s successful hosting of the ICC Level 1 Coach Tutors Course in January, marking another significant milestone in our cricket development journey,” reads a statement from the ECA.

The course will be conducted by Master Educators Tom Mokorosi and Lauren Agenbag, who will lead the instructional sessions. The ICC appointed Tom Mokorosi, an elite umpire from Cricket South Africa and the Western Province Cricket Association Premier League, as the Master Educator for Africa. Additionally, Lauren Agenbag, also an elite umpire from CSA, was appointed in 2023.
