FREDERICK MNGOMEZULU APPLAUDS LANDMARK MOU BETWEEN ESWATINI TV AND ESWATINI SCHOOL SPORT ASSOCIATION

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini Football Association (EFA) CEO Frederick Mngomezulu has hailed the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Eswatini TV and the Eswatini School Sport Association as a strategic masterstroke that promises to elevate youth football development and commercialize the sport.

Mngomezulu, who serves as the EFA’s CEO, emphasized the timing of the agreement, noting it capitalizes on the lull in professional football at the end of the season. “The School Sport Association’s strategy to take center stage when attention shifts from elite competitions is visionary. Leaders must innovate to win, and this partnership exemplifies that ,” he stated.

The MoU aims to broadcast school sports events, providing a platform for young athletes while attracting sponsorships. Mngomezulu praised Eswatini TV’s commitment to sports, stating, “This initiative demonstrates their dedication to nurturing talent and creating business opportunities within football. As the EFA, we fully endorse it.”

Highlighting the EFA’s focus on grassroots development, Mngomezulu pointed to the association’s structured national teams from under-13 to senior levels. “Development is our cornerstone. School sports not only uncover talent but also build a sustainable ecosystem for football’s growth,” he added.

The partnership is expected to enhance visibility for school competitions, linking them to broader commercial and developmental goals. Mngomezulu stressed that the collaboration aligns with the EFA’s strategy to professionalize the sport while ensuring youth engagement. “This isn’t just about talent spotting; it’s about integrating education, sport, and business for long-term success,” he concluded.

The agreement marks a significant step in Eswatini’s efforts to leverage media partnerships for sports development, with stakeholders anticipating increased investment and public interest in school-level competitions.
