HAYLEY HOY STAYS IN AFRICA JUNIOR AQUATICS TOP 8

Africa-Press – Eswatini. In the heart of Cairo, where Africa’s top young swimmers clashed for continental glory, Hayley Hoy stood out, keeping Eswatini in the spotlight with a strong performance that placed her in the Africa Junior Aquatics Top 8.

It was a week of fierce competition, and Hayley rose to the challenge with unwavering focus. Her main event, the 200-meter butterfly, tested her endurance and skill and she delivered. Stroke after stroke, she powered through the water, fueled by months of training and the dream of standing among the best. When she touched the wall, her effort was rewarded. She had not only placed 6th overall but also achieved a new personal best. Being among the top 8 in the continent was a proud moment and a testament to her growth and determination.

Hayle appreciating the opportunity and her superiors, she expressed her excitement saying that being part of the competition makes her feel proud. “I am really happy to once again be representing Eswatini.” She said. “I can’t explain how grateful I am to a good giving this opportunity to try and do my country proud. I’m doing my best here in Egypt and I will continue to do so for the rest of the competition. I’m happy so far with how I’ve been able to do finals for the 200 butterfly and then got a PB and came sixth in the finals so I was very happy to be able to do that at a continental competition.

She further thanked her coaches who had helped her through with her journey to swimming.” I’m very grateful to my Coach.” She explained. “I also thank my family for all the hard work they help me put in even though the last few months haven’t been ideal and easy. I’m so grateful for the performance I’ve been able to put on so far. Hayley explained.

In the shorter, more explosive 50-meter butterfly, Hayley gave it her all. Though the result, 31.35 seconds wasn’t her best, it still reflected solid performance against tough competition. With grace and a positive spirit, she accepted the result as part of the journey, knowing that each race, no matter the outcome, was a stepping stone to improvement.

For Hayley, Cairo wasn’t just about medals or rankings. It was about pushing limits, learning from every lap, and representing her team with heart. And as the cheers echoed around the pool, it was clear this was only the beginning of a bright swimming future.
