Africa-Press – Eswatini. The girls of Mbabane East are stepping into brighter days thanks to a heartfelt collaboration between the Helping Hand Foundation and Eswatini Mums, a lively social media community.
On May 1, 2025, laughter and music filled the air at a bustling family fun day — a joyous event that raised funds to provide sanitary towels and lunch bags to schoolgirls who need them most. Generous sponsors like Molly’s Restaurant, Waterman, Pitso Qwabe from Jazz Friends, On Point, Peo, and Big Momma all joined hands to make sure no girl is left behind.
At the handover event, Ncamiso Mahlalela of Helping Hand Foundation, fondly known as the “Pads Guy,” beamed with gratitude. “It’s not just about handing out pads,” he shared passionately. “It’s about giving girls their confidence, their dignity, and ensuring they can learn without barriers.” Mahlalela also called on the Eswatini Government to continue prioritizing menstrual hygiene, ensuring every girl has the chance to succeed.
Eswatini Mums representative, Tlalane Dlamini, radiated joy as she spoke. “The success of our family fun day shows what’s possible when a community comes together,” she said. “We are so proud to stand beside Helping Hand Foundation to bring essential resources to these bright young girls. Seeing the difference we make together is truly heartwarming.”
Indvuna Yenkhundla Phindile Maziya added her voice of appreciation, thanking all partners for their meaningful contribution. She expressed hope that this collaboration sparks even more initiatives for community upliftment.
Mbabane East MP Welcome Dlamini praised the initiative for promoting menstrual health and dignity, highlighting that the government is exploring ways to expand such vital support programs.
This remarkable initiative also marked Helping Hand Foundation’s 10-year anniversary, celebrating a decade of empowering women and girls across Eswatini. With creative donation campaigns — like placing collection bins in popular venues — Mahlalela and his team continue to rally communities around a powerful mission: to bring hope, dignity, and opportunity to every girl.
In the end, this inspiring effort reminds us all of the magic that happens when businesses, individuals, and local leaders join hands — lifting girls, lifting futures, and lifting the whole nation.
