Africa-Press – Eswatini. A fresh chapter of leadership and collaboration has begun at the Eswatini Medical Christian University (EMCU), following the official announcement of a new Board of Directors by the Minister of Education and Training, Owen Nxumalo.
In a spirit of optimism and progress, Minister Nxumalo revealed the eight-member board tasked with guiding the university toward academic excellence and institutional stability. Leading the team is Dr. Boy Bongani Dlamini, appointed as Chairperson. He will be joined by Mr. Philemon Mgabhi, Mr. Nkosingiphile Magagula, Ms. Susan Mourdant from the Ministry of Finance, Prof. Paul Yang representing EMCU, Dr. Buyisile Dladla from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Mr. Sandile Zwane, and Ms. Hlobsile Grace Nxumalo.
Addressing the new board members, the Minister expressed confidence in their collective expertise and urged them to work as a cohesive team focused on institutional development. He also encouraged meaningful engagement between the board and the student body.
“Challenges are part of any academic journey,” he said. “But we believe in dialogue. I urge our student leaders to collaborate with the board in addressing issues, rather than resorting to strike action.”
This proactive step underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening higher education governance and fostering an environment where academic excellence can thrive through unity and open communication.
