ACC Acting Commissioner Seeks Meeting with King Mswati

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Maphevu Mkhatjwa, the Acting Commissioner of the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) is allegedly seeking an appointment with Protocol Officers in an attempt to meet Mswati and, the purpose of the meeting is to inform the King regarding the looming arrest of Auditor General(AG) Timothy Matsebula.

It is alleged that, the ACC investigation was influenced by SwaziPharm Director Kareem Ashraff and Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini who have been ‘hot on the heels’ of the AG for time now, the Prime Minister previously told the Nation that, the reports of the Auditor General should not be taken serious as he was incompetent.

The sentiments came after the AG compiled a report implicating the PM in the disappearance of over R200million within the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA).

Efforts to seek a comment from the Auditor General Timothy Matsebula proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report while ACC Spokesperson Jabu Phakathi, declined to comment about the looming arrest of the AG.

But King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane said, he was not aware of the alleged moves by the ACC to meet the King before arresting the AG adding that, he was also not aware of any law, directing the ACC in this regard, to report to the King before arresting high profile individuals.

“We are not aware of the move by ACC to bounce their alleged arrest of the AG.We are not also aware of the reasons for his looming arrest. No. We have not yet come across a piece of law on reporting imminent arrests of high profile individuals to the King,” said the King’s Spokesperson.
