Africa-Press – Eswatini. If you’re young, unemployed, and digitally curious, this could be your golden ticket.

A brand-new training opportunity in Eswatini is opening doors for youth aged 18 to 35, offering them the chance to break into the booming digital world.

Through a bold collaboration between Digital Africa and IRDM College Eswatini, a fully funded six-month program has been launched to equip participants with skills in artificial intelligence, digital marketing, web development and more. And the best part? It’s free – removing financial barriers that often lock young people out of the tech space.

Dr Oliver Museka, the founder and executive director of the Institute of Research Management and Development (IRDM), said the initiative was developed to respond to the pressing needs of Eswatini’s unemployed youth.

“We believe that digital literacy is no longer optional, it’s essential,” Museka pointed out.

He said the training was designed to be both practical and accessible, especially to young people who often find themselves sidelined due to lack of resources.

Museka further explained that the program aims to link participants to the broader tech economy, locally and internationally.

“We’re not just offering skills, we are connecting young people to employment opportunities and giving them the tools to launch their own digital ventures,” he said.

The IRDM Startup Digital Marketing Training, also offered under the program, is being rolled out in partnership with Tofara Online Trust. It has a specific focus on empowering women, youth and MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises). Museka said the partnership had been carefully crafted to ensure participants get hands-on experience in creating real-world digital campaigns.

With funding from Digital Africa, the initiative falls under the Talent 4 Startups program, which trains Africans in tech-based professions before placing them in startup roles.

Museka said the training would cover seven digital career paths, including social media management, content creation, graphic design, and artificial intelligence in digital marketing.

“Young people are the heartbeat of Africa’s future,” Museka said. “If we do not empower them with relevant skills today, we are postponing the continent’s prosperity.”

The course content includes modules like SEO (Search Engine Optimization), WhatsApp and email marketing, as well as innovative approaches to online branding and visibility. Each topic is geared towards making participants ready for the digital demands of today’s business world.

Entertainment insiders have also shown interest, saying the skills on offer could revolutionize Eswatini’s creative industry. Digital marketing experts believe content creators, musicians, and fashion designers can use this training to amplify their reach and monetise their craft on global platforms.

As Eswatini edges further into the digital age, programs like these are making sure no one is left behind. For a generation long starved of opportunity, the message is loud and clear: the future is now, and it’s digital.
