Africa-Press – Eswatini. Legit Stores at Riverstone Mall in Manzini made a generous donation of clothing valued at over E5 000 to the Eswatini Red Cross Society on Friday, 17 May.
The donation is aimed at supporting the organization’s ongoing humanitarian work across the country, particularly during the cold winter season.
Nontobeko Dlamini from the Red Cross expressed gratitude for the contribution, noting that the clothes will go a long way in assisting families in need. “This donation makes our work easier,” she said. “When we reach out to people in different communities, we now have something meaningful to give them. These clothes will bring warmth and comfort during a difficult season.”
Dlamini highlighted that the winter months are especially challenging for many, and having access to warm clothing is crucial for maintaining good health. “The cold can be harsh, especially for children and the elderly. These clothes will help improve the well-being of those who need support the most,” she added.
The Eswatini Red Cross Society operates through five main departments: Health and Social Services, Disaster Management, First Aid, Organisational Development, and Communications. Together, these departments ensure that communities receive timely assistance and care.
Dlamini thanked Legit Stores Riverstone for their thoughtful donation and encouraged other businesses to consider similar acts of kindness. “This is more than just a donation; it is a symbol of hope and care. We are truly grateful,” she said.
This generous act by Legit Stores highlights the important role businesses can play in supporting vulnerable communities and promoting social responsibility.
