Africa-Press – Eswatini. Acting Prime Minister (APM) Thulisile Dladla presided over the inauguration of four newly constructed houses aimed at supporting vulnerable families in the Lubombo Region.

This initiative reflects a commitment to improving living conditions for those in need.

Details of the Housing Projects
– Funding Sources: Three of the homes were financed by the Eswatini government through the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), while one was donated by a private citizen.

– Beneficiaries:
– Pato Siblings: The first two houses, located in Malindza, Dvokodweni Inkhundla, were built for the Pato siblings, Joshua (63) and Elizabeth Pato (67), who received a two-room house with a bathroom. Their brother, David Pato (63), was allocated a one-room house with a bathroom. APM Dladla praised their dedication and emphasized the importance of perseverance and self-reliance in achieving positive outcomes.

– Lucas Simelane: The second beneficiary, Lucas Simelane (58), from KaShoba, Mpolonjeni Inkhundla, received a one-room house with a bathroom, replacing his previous unsafe shack. APM Dladla highlighted the distressing nature of Simelane’s situation, particularly given his health challenges following a stroke, and called for community support to combat poverty.

– John Bulunga and Elizabeth Matsenjwa: The final home was allocated to John Bulunga (75) and his wife, Elizabeth Matsenjwa (70), in Mzilikazi – Ematjeni under Lugongolweni Inkhundla. They received a two-room house with a bathroom, donated by an anonymous benefactor, after living in a deteriorating structure.

Call to Action

During her address, APM Dladla encouraged financially capable individuals to collaborate with the government in providing assistance to those in need, aligning with His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of ensuring that every Liswati has access to a dignified home. This initiative not only addresses immediate housing needs but also fosters community solidarity and support.
