Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini artists wowed Sandton crowd with powerful performances and standing ovation.
Eswatini’s music industry shone brightly on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the exclusive Showtheflames Night event held at Hotel Sky in Sandton. This landmark showcase, a collaboration between the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) and AIRCO, featured standout performances by Eswatini’s own Young Zesh and Tru Classic that drew a thunderous standing ovation from an appreciative, high-profile audience.
The evening brought together an impressive roster of Southern African talent, including Mthokozisi Ndaba, Yamke, Don Dada, Kingsmen, and the show-closing act, Aubrey Qwabe. The event was attended by key South African entertainment figures, media personalities, and cultural leaders who witnessed a truly dynamic celebration of regional artistry.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Stanley Khoza of AIRCO expressed heartfelt thanks to ENCAC’s CEO, Mr. Stanley Dlamini, for spearheading the partnership. “This is just the beginning of many more collaborations between our two nations,” Khoza affirmed, underscoring the strategic value of cross-border cultural exchange.
Mr. Dlamini, leading the Eswatini delegation that included legendary musician and NACA Chairperson Makhabane, praised the warm Sandton reception and emphasized the importance of such engagements in fostering sustainable opportunities for Eswatini artists. He also urged South African media to help amplify Eswatini talent, noting that in today’s interconnected world, cultural exchange is more vital than ever.
A major highlight of the night was the formal announcement of a collaboration between Young Zesh and South African artist Yamke. The two were introduced by Khoza and confirmed they would be heading into the studio the very next morning to record their joint track with a top-tier production team. Showtheflames will handle the post-production and plans to travel to Eswatini for the song’s official launch.
This milestone event is a direct result of commitments made at the recent Eswatini Arts Summit, underscoring the Summit’s pledge to deliver meaningful, cross-border creative opportunities for Eswatini’s emerging talent.
