Africa-Press – Eswatini. New driver’s license empowers Mr Eswatini to expand outreach and serve communities better.

Sive Aidan Mawelela, the reigning Mr Eswatini 2023/25, is celebrating a major personal milestone: earning his driver’s license, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Viwas PTY LTD. The occasion, marked by a heartfelt presentation hosted at Berachah Kitchen, was more than just a ceremonial handover—it symbolized a commitment to empowerment, mobility, and service to the nation.

Hailing from the scenic Ngculwini in the Manzini Region, Mawelela is well-known for his infectious enthusiasm and dedication to the development of Eswatini’s youth. A qualified Secondary School teacher specializing in Mathematics and Science and a proud graduate of William Pitcher College, he credits his mother for inspiring his teaching passion.

“As Mr Eswatini, I use this platform to leverage my passion for youth empowerment and development,” Mawelela said. “In my heart, rooted deep, is the right of every Liswati to access quality education.”

On receiving his license, Mawelela delivered an emotional thank-you, emphasizing that the Viwas PTY LTD sponsorship was more than a financial contribution. “It was an investment in my personal growth and in my ability to serve the community more effectively. Learning to drive has been an invaluable experience, equipping me with a crucial life skill that offers independence, expands my reach, and allows me to better fulfill my duties as Mr. Eswatini.”

He praised Viwas Driving School for its professionalism, saying the instructors’ patience and expertise made the learning process both enjoyable and thorough. Mawelela also thanked Berachah Kitchen for graciously hosting the presentation, describing their warm hospitality as the perfect setting for such a memorable occasion.

During an interview, Mawelela reflected on the importance of the achievement:

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be standing here today, not just as Mr. Eswatini 2023/25, but also as a newly licensed driver! It’s an incredible feeling to have achieved this milestone, and I’m grateful to Viwas Driving School for their support. This new skill will undoubtedly enhance my ability to serve my community and represent our nation with even more confidence.”

He described the driver’s license as a symbol of “independence, freedom, and a new level of responsibility” that will enable him to reach more people and communities. Balancing his busy schedule as Mr Eswatini with learning to drive was a challenge, but he credited Viwas instructors for helping him stay focused and confident.

“As Mr. Eswatini, my role involves engaging with communities, attending events, and representing our nation. Having a driver’s license will enable me to be more mobile, accessible, and efficient in my outreach efforts,” he explained. “I’ll be able to visit more communities, participate in more initiatives, and serve my nation with even greater enthusiasm and dedication.”

To show his appreciation, Mawelela presented Viwas PTY LTD with a Certificate of Appreciation, calling it “a small symbol of the immense impact” their commitment had on his journey.

As he continues his reign, Sive Mawelela says this milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter in serving Eswatini’s youth, one he’s determined to navigate with even greater reach and purpose.
