Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS), has announced revised toll fees for all vehicles entering the Kingdom of Eswatini, effective October 1,2025.
The review of road user fees was conducted in line with Section 4 of the Finance (Amendment) Act 2025. The new fees will apply at all land ports of entry, affecting both foreign-registered and locally-registered commercial motor vehicles.
Border Crossings with South Africa
Foreign-registered motorcycles will be charged E80, while light commercial vehicles with or without trailers will pay E150. Heavy motor vehicles with two axles (above 3 000 kg but below 7 500 kg) will pay E350, those with three axles (above 7 500 kg) E400, and vehicles with four or more axles (over 7 500 kg) E450.
Mhlumeni and Lomahasha Borders
At these borders, light commercial vehicles will also pay E150, while two-axle heavy vehicles (above 3 500 kg but less than 7 500 kg) will be charged E350. Heavy vehicles with three axles (above 7 500 kg) and those with four or more axles will each pay the equivalent of USD 100 per truck.
Locally Registered Commercial Vehicles
Locally registered vehicles will pay lower fees: light commercial vehicles E55, heavy vehicles with two axles E60, with three axles E80, and with four or more axles E100.
The Ministry has urged all transport operators and road users to take note of the new toll fees when planning cross-border travel. For further details, stakeholders are encouraged to contact the Eswatini Revenue Service or the ministry of Public Works and Transport.
The announcement was jointly signed by Hon. Neal Rijkenberg, Minister of Finance, Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe, Minister for Public Works and Transport, and Mr Brightwell Nkambule, Commissioner General of ERS.
